Upcoming events at Galen Glen include Verhext Weekend fundraiser and winemaker's dinner

Verhext Weekend
"Max out the MINI" to Help the Homeless

Join Galen Glen during Verhext Weekend (which translates to "bewitched" in German) and enjoy a complimentary food and wine pairing of our newest wine, Holiday Spice with a special Austrian treat (recipe available).

We are partnering with MINI of Allentown to collect bare necessity donations for our local program that helps homeless families, Family Promise of Carbon County. We want to "Max out the MINI" that will be sitting on our parking lot, open and ready to be filled with donations. Each family who brings a donation to the winery that weekend will receive a special thank you gift.  For the list of items needed, go here. Monetary donations are also welcomed. Thank you for helping us support this worthy cause.

Winemaker's Dinner
Thursday, November 6 at 7 pm
Macaluso's Restaurant
1257 E. Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning

Sarah and ToniMarie have been working on a menu that is sure to delight any palate. Make your reservations now to ensure availability for this popular event.

The Menu:
  • Welcome Wine: Holiday Spice
  • First Course: Eggplant cheesecake served with fresh tomato and basil, paired with Crooked Stick Red
  • Second Course: Roasted butternut squash risotto garnished with fried calamari, paired with Stone Cellar Gruner Veltliner
  • Third Course: ToniMarie's Autumn-inspired salad, paired with Riesling
  • Fourth Course: Roasted pork loin stuffed with wild mushrooms, veal sausage and sundried cherries accompanied by Swiss chard, paired with Stone Cellar Chambourcin
  • Fifth Course: Decadently dark chocolate surprise (at Sarah's request), paired with Raspberry
The dinner is $70 per person, plus tax and includes gratuity. Payment is required at time of reservation. Reservations may be made by calling the winery at (570) 386-3682 Wednesday through Sunday between noon and 5 pm. Make a night of it and stay at ToniMarie's Lantern Hotel for just $65 for the night. This is a special wine dinner-only rate.

Weekend events and a winemaker's dinner coming up at Galen Glen

So Long Summer Slushies

Saturday, August 23 - 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday, August 24 - noon - 5 pm

As the final full month of Summer is coming to a close, we must bid a fond adieu or Auf Wiedersehen to our famous wine slushies. This will be the final weekend to enjoy a complimentary taste of our Wine Glace slushy on the wine bar or purchase your own glass for $4 to enjoy while drinking in our spectacular views. Slushies will be served each day as supplies last. We will continue to carry the slushy mix so you can make this frozen concoction at any of your upcoming gatherings.

Food On The Roll with Ellen's Edibles Returns
Saturday, August 30 - 10 am - 5 pm

Ellen puts her special loving spin on comfort food. If you visited the winery in early August when Ellen first brought her truck to us, we're sure you have heard the rave reviews of the chicken wrap and mac 'n cheese.

Plan to join us that day and enjoy a walking tour at noon. Then grab a great comfort food lunch to pair with your wine and ponder the things you learned during the tour.

Winemaker's Dinner
Thursday, September 4 at The Broadway Grille in Jim Thorpe

If you missed the last dinner at The Broadway, don't feel bad, you have another chance to experience an evening of great wine, food and ambiance. Chef Zoraida Rivera and her staff have planned a very special menu and seats are filling fast. The Broadway is located next to The Historic Inn at Jim Thorpe and special wine dinner rates are available should you choose to make a night of it.

 Sarah and Galen from Galen Glen Winery in Andreas have just announced their next winemaker's dinner. Below are the details on it. If you're interested in being a part of it, we suggest you register soon. These dinners are known to fill up quickly!

Winemaker's Dinner: Saturday November 6 at 7 p.m. at Galen Glen Winery, Andreas
Featuring the culinary creations of Tonimarie and her restaurant Macaluso's at The Lantern

Wine - Mulled & Spicy Claret

First Course:
Cream of Cauliflower with fresh Jalapeno and Cheddar Cheese
Wine - Stone Cellar Gewürztraminer

Second Course:
Sweet Potato Ravioli served in a Brown Butter and Sage Sauce
Wine - Stone Cellar Riesling

Third Course:
Mediterranean Blend of Garbanzo Beans, Fava Beans, Craisins and Red Onions over Mixed Greens with a splash of Tonimarie's Vinaigrette
Wine - Traminette

Fourth Course:
Pork loin stuffed with Veal Sausage and Fennel accompanied by pan seared Brussel Sprouts
Wine - Stone Cellar Chambourcin

Fifth Course:
Mascarpone Cheesecake with Ginger Snap Crust

Reservations: Only by calling the winery at 570-386-3682. A credit card is required for all reservations. Cancellations after November 3 will be charged the full cost of the dinner.

Seating: We make every effort to accommodate seating requests.In order to use our space efficiently, we may need to combine parties. Also, our largest table can seat 8 guests.
