Get to know... Becky at Tolino Vineyards
1. Which winery do you work for and how long have you worked there?
I have worked at Tolino Vineyards since 2012. I began working in the vineyard as a summer job and have worked in the tasting room for the past two years.
2. What is your favorite wine that your winery makes and why? What do you like to pair it with?
My favorite wine is the 2014 Lilly, which is a blend of our sweeter Vidal Blanc and drier Pinot Grigio. It is a light and refreshing wine which pairs perfectly with a variety of seafood.
3. What is the most popular question you get asked by visitors about Lehigh Valley wine or wineries, and how do you answer it?
Customers commonly ask whether we grow our own grapes or add anything to our wines. Many customers read the description of the wines and assume that the notes are what we add to our wine. I explain that we grow our own grapes and that the notes describe the natural flavor of the grapes used to make that particular wine, which is weather dependent.
4. What do you like most about local, Lehigh Valley wine and wineries?
The wineries are family oriented, which makes customers feel like family when they visit. Following the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is also a great way to support local agriculture and as consumers, you know where your grapes are being grown to product the wine you are bringing home to share with your loved ones.
5. What is the one piece of advice you offer to wine lovers traveling along the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail?
Each winery offers a unique variety of wines, so it is important to have an open mind when wine tasting since you never know what you might enjoy.

Clover Hill celebrates 29 years in business this month with wine sale
September is a special time of year for me at Clover Hill Winery. First, I celebrated my birthday on September 2 and I like to think of myself as a harvest baby. Second, grape harvest begins in September and this year I celebrated my birthday with the first day of harvest as we picked Niagara. I couldn’t ask for a more enjoyable way to celebrate! Third, September marks the 29th anniversary of Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery.
My, how far we have come in 29 years! Six vineyards we farm, 75,000 gallons of wine that we produce annually, we have customers that have become friends, and employees that are like family. I couldn’t be more proud to be part of this family business with my parents, Pat and John Jr., and my brother, John Skrip III. Thank you for choosing to enjoy Clover Hill wines and CHEERS to my birthday, another wonderful grape harvest and to many, many more years of Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery. - Kari Skrip
The 2013 Chardonnay was just released and it is a jem. There is a strong aroma of Granny Smith apples and lemon zest. The mouth feel is warm and soothing with flavors of buttered toast, green apple and a citrus backbone. It is wonderfully complex with soft nuances of sweet oak and a zesty finish.
(Please note: If you are traveling to the winery in Breinigsville, Schantz Road will be partially closed until July 2015. Go here to find detours.)
September Owner’s Selection
Save 10% on Vidal Blanc.

Clover Hill releases its "Naked" Chardonnay
Grape harvest is just around the corner!
August is one of our favorite times of the year. The vineyards are in great shape and are going through veraison which is the transition from berry growth to berry ripening. This is the final step before harvest. Keep up to date on the 2012 vintage by liking us on Facebook.
We have released the 2010 Generations N~Chard. This is a limited edition of unoaked Chardonnay (naked Chardonnay) and a favorite of our winemaker, John Skrip III. Of course he is bias because the Chardonnay grapes came from Clover Hill’s Sunset Vineyard, which happens to be where his house is located. The wine is rich in flavors of cantaloupe, melon and apricot and bright with fresh, clean acidity. Also, the very popular Strawberry Merlot is nearly sold out, so get it while you can!
Our event schedule features wonderful ways to enjoy your visit to Clover Hill Winery or you can come on a quieter weekday and enjoy a glass of wine on the patio with a picnic. Our Robesonia location in Berks County is now open seven days a week: Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sunday noon - 5 p.m.
Thank you for choosing Clover Hill wines. There is no better month to enjoy locally grown foods with a glass of our locally produced wine than the month of August!
